Sandi in Hawaii, you inspired me with your heart-shaped brownies...

I haven't felt up to baking lately and tried to prepare a batch of Millionaire chocolate chip cookies, a recipe I've made a dozen times at least.

I burnt 4 BATCHES! When I finally got one pan of soft ones, they had spread and were, to be honest, quite ugly, even with the soul of a choco-chip angel.

Then I remembered your outrageous brownie hearts and dug out my cookie cutters. I ended up with a dozen heart-shaped cookies that made me smile.

Thank you for supplying a happy ending to a bad day in the kitchen.

Just crumble up those homely cookies Marilyn and stir into some ice cream.

I'll come over to help you eat it. I had one of those baking days last weekend with the lemonade cookies---they stuck to each other when stacked on a plate. at the cabin, I have bakeware that I have collected at the thrift shops. 2 baking sheets, one is dark and traditional with a rim, the other is one of those flat aluminum ones with air in between. Well, with the lemonade cookies, it made a big difference in appearance between the 2 pans. the flat air pan kept the cookies lighter and they spread more. the darker pan made the cookies more round and the bottoms browned too soon. They got eaten anyway.

Hey Marilyn, I did a google search for Millionaire Chocolate Chip Cookies

I didn't find anything called Millionaire c.c. cookies. I can only imagine what's in them.

Would you please post your recipe for Millionaire c.c. cookies?

Thanks for reading,
Ann

...ah, it would help if you had the correct name: Marcel's Million Dollar Cookies

from Marcel Desaulniers. Good cookie. Nice and big and thick---I've bagged them individually and given over 100 at work.

Suggestion: make up the dough and bake-test just one or two cookies. They spread. I tend to put in a bit more flour than the 4 cups. Or try chilling the dough and then pressing down to flatten a bit.

Here's some things I use:
#24 scoop rather than 2 tablespoons.
Toasted walnuts, but the pecans seem less agressive in taste.
El Rey white chocolate disks.
Callebaut 55% semisweet chips.
parchment or silpat liner.

I've linked the recipe. Scroll down a bit to see it. They usually turn out just like the photo.

Do NOT, however, try making them with a frozen shoulder and 6.5 hours of sleep over 2 days. Then you will burn 4 batches and learn how to swear in Latin.
