Hi all, we'll be staying one night in Savannah on our way down to Florida this weekend - anyone live around there or can recommend a good place to eat?
We enjoyed lunch at Mrs. Wilkes' Boarding House a couple years ago. They don't
accept reservations, and there's usually quite a line out the door. We waited about 45 minutes in line and were one of the last few groups seated for lunch...had been out sightseeing all morning. You dine family style at large dining tables (about 10 seats, as I recall) but that all adds to the charm of the experience. Tasty Southern-style cooking.
If you have time on your brief stay, I highly recommend a city tour. They're inexpensive and very informative with overviews of the history, culture and architecture of Savannah. Enjoy your stay there.
