Saw Cirque du Soleil's "Beatles LOVE" on Friday night in Vegas. OH. MY!

Father's Day gift from Son #1, who is interning with Cirque all summer. Drove to Vegas with Son #2, who is back from college for the summer. (He's interning here in Phoenix.)

It was so great to have the road trip drive-time with Son #2, so we could get caught up on his life on the east coast. Awesome...

Then, the show. GOODNESS!

A 90-minute grin, from ear to ear! 7,000 speakers in the room, including 2 in my seat, with a third "bass bar" in the back of the seat in front of me, pointing at my chest. The sound was amazingly well-balanced and not overwhelming. So fun to hear some of my favorite Beatle songs done right!

Not three minutes goes by in the entire show without me asking myself, "how the HECK did they DO THAT?" It was sensory overload in the best of ways. Just amazing!

Thanks for the Head's up!

We'll be flying into LV in early October for a road trip. That might be a good take while there.

Michael, you might be interested in watching *All Together Now* a documentary

about making this show. (From the web: "All Together Now is a documentary about the making of The Beatles’ “LOVE” by Cirque du Soleil. The film details the story behind the unique partnership that resulted in the creation and launch of “LOVE” and the double Grammy-winning album of the same name.")

It clearly showed the dynamics of the remaining Beatles family members who were quite vocal in protecting the Beatles image and, I'm sure, NOT what the Cirque creators are used to. I think they are used to doing whatever they want to do...collaboration seemed new to them.

The part about John's mother was very moving.

I did see that documentary. Yes, Cirque du Soleil is a bit headstrong about what they do...

...and my son confirms they have a mindset that insists on 'excellence' in every detail. If they cannot create an effect or manifest an idea at the level they require, they will move on. Nothing happens unless it is SAFE for the artists first, and at an elite level of execution.

"Collaboration" is actually a buzzword at Cirque. Maybe they learned it making "LOVE". Who knows? It's been more than 10 years.

If you love the Beatles, there's nothing better! BUT, the other resident shows in Vegas are...

...excellent as well!

"O" is their most popular and successful show of all time. It is beyond amazing.

"KÀ" is a love story told without words.

"MJ ONE" is the Michael Jackson show, and it is also superb.

Something for everyone, and you simply can't go wrong!
