Scientists discover unknown lizard species at lunch buffet

i will try almost anything but the words "old and dead tasting" put a piece of mental duct tape

across my mouth. eewww!

I have a friend who is an educator and she travels all over the world for training sessions ,

I love hearing her stories about the food presented to her group during her week long stays.
Her assistant always tells the hosts that she is vegetarian (she is not) so she is usually served an array of veggies and fruits. She also packs a separate suitcase with energy bars, Snickers, juice drinks to get her through. Yes, she can take all this stuff because she travels so many miles that they all know her.
It is amazing to me (not wrong, however) what people in other countries eat. I can honestly understand why she stays away from anything with eyes in other countries.

Same here with a niece who has traveled extensively in the region, done volunteer work and claimed

to be vegetarian as not to be subjected to things she didn't want to "experience".

So I guess she never tried the fried

bugs? LOL I'll never forget one time in Thailand, sitting at a outside bar in the evening having a beer, and a man pushing a cart about 3'x5' came down the street. All the Thais got very excited but no one went out to buy anything. Of course we asked what it was and then why they weren't buying. It was fried bugs and they were very expensive to them. We went out to the cart and saw compartments about 12"X12" each with a variety of bugs. Ugh! To us they were pennies, to them they were big money. So...we bought a round of bugs. The lesson...how to be an Ambassador. LOL Oh, and the favorite, most longed for bug? Cockroaches, crispy, fried cockroaches.

"So...we bought a round

of bugs" - That's a scream orchid!! That takes VERY diplomatic guts.

Geez, to think that Al Pacino had the chance to Go Green but blew it...
