Score! Four 4.7 oz jars of Ball Pectin for 2$ each on the clearance tale at Kroger

Congratulations! I love scoring great buys...

the local IGA (the only grocery left in the city that still has butchers that actually trim and cut up carcass--all the rest now ship it in preprocessed and cut---more disease opportunities) has a special bin where they mark down their meats a day before the expiration. My freezer is always stocked full of T-bones, porterhouses, lamb chops, chuck roasts, sirloin roasts etc. at half price.

I hit the Kroger reduced meat bin every time I go in.

Before Sunflower turned into Sprouts almost all the meat I bought was "manager's special" markdowns.

Me too. (Here they operate as Safeway.) A tip I got from the butcher...

They're required to have that day's markdowns done by 6 am. Since I usually shop in the evening, the pickings were pretty slim. Now when I need to stock up on meat, I go early in the day.

Check the dairy isle too. I've been getting 50% off deals on yogurt and cottage cheese.

Traca, I think Fred Meyer is your Kroger---at least it is up here. good buys in the meat dept bins

And another great buy...

I was running through the Kroger beside my office (we were out of puppy cookies!!!) and of course I had to go peek at the discounted meats...they were just putting out 4-packs of 1-inch Sirloin Strip steaks. I grabbed both of them, regular price was $65 for both packs and I got them for $28!!!
