is up and lit and decorated, and then rearranged lighting and ornaments at least twice smileys/smile.gif train is set up and running last night. I just don't feel like baking. so odd. Is it that month I spent in sunny Florida? I hope to make cheezz's cranberry bliss bars for bookclub this Saturday, but I'm sorely afraid that I will have no goodies for packages this year, and maybe it's OK. I don't even know if they really appreciate it.

Things like that happen now and then. Follow your gut and just go with it. Karma is telling you

something. Maybe, if you really want to bake, what about taking something to the local fire dept. or police dept, If you know someone there, it would be better. Or take a load of cookies to a local assisted living place. You know it would be appreciated and you will feel so good for having done it. Another choice would be the local women's shelter. They get overloaded this time of year and the poor, scared children there will love it.

Sometimes it is like that - just not in the mood. Give in to it and enjoy doing other

things that make you feel good!

DH is retired now and is picking up the slack. He wants to make the fudge for the Airforce gate

patrol gang that we give goodies to each Christmas eve. And I think I'll have him make the date truffles that Sally posted below. I'll make up some of the coffee cakes this weekend. that should be doable. I bought a bunch of lovely chocolates and truffles last night at Alaska Wildberry company and those will go into the few packages I need to send. Hopefully I can get them mailed tomorrow. DH again to the rescue. Ahhhh, to be retired!

I hear ya...

It's been balmy hot here, I still had impatiens outside until the week before Thanksgiving! They're normally gone by early October.

Just not in the mood this year. And then our schedules were frantic at Thanksgiving when we normally spend the weekend decorating, then I was on the road, and then it's the week before Christmas and I just didn't feel like dragging the ton of Christmas ornaments up from the basement for a week. We normally have 3 trees in the house, garlands, lights festooning every inch, etc. And we finally said, we'll just skip it this year.

But bake? We can't not bake. We went into a week-long frenzy to make our traditional German Christmas bakes. And they are mighty tasty!

Christmas day, 70F in 'Nati today! Fa-la-laaa!
