I have never seen frozen, let alone FRESH sour cherries in any store around where I live. Not in any of the regular groceries, nor in the ethnic markets like the middle eastern market. I live about 45 miles east of Los Angeles.

They were in our local, biggest middle eastern market. Fresh, with leaves attached.

I am going to try making a cherry pie this evening or tomorrow evening. If this works out, I will be rushing back tomorrow or Monday to see if I can get some more of them to make some sour cherry cordial of some sort. If 4 lbs is not enough for a pie, I can augment with dried sour cherries.

Mebbe I will get a bunch and pit and freeze enough for a pie or two this winter.

Wow! 4#! Wonderful news! We bought a pint at our Farmer's Market

here in Michigan last Sunday for the first time. We hadn't seen them before. And the cherries were outstanding! Very soft - maybe that's how they always are - and each "sweet" morsel tasted just like cherry pie! Dh and I ate through them - no pie. It's been a long time since we've had cherry pie cherries smileys/wink.gif We will be looking for more today at the Farmer's Market. Hoping you find more, too! Please splurge! Colleen

No more sour cherries here smileys/frown.gif Hopefully, you did!

But we scored our favorite Red Haven peaches, ripe tomatoes and corn, glorious corn. smileys/smile.gif Colleen
