see....I take 3-5 Meg images from my camera and so they were always HUGE at

photobucket...as were the hyperlinks to the images we used here. That tub-o-fudge used to take up most of my monitor.

It is my totally unconfirmed opinion that photobucket cut down the size to save space. And that makes perfect sense.

My Godfrey, I have to stop looking at that image or I'm going to go home and make some.

That would be lovely...but if you want, you can explain your restoration process to me

in smaller syllables and I might be able to do it.

Okay, Marilyn, and everyone here, I

I initially thought that someone else deleted the photos about two weeks ago. I was horrified to find out that I did!

I must confess that in trying to post a slide show that I accidentally deleted all of the photos in Photobucket with the exception of those that are in folders. This happened around June 17th. I desperately researched the help options in Photobucket. One Q & A said that once deleted, they are not recoverable. A tip from a Photobucket chat said that they may be if I look in my cache.

I’ve spent a total of about two full days of my time restoring the photos one by one in order to keep the links as they were. When I initially restored the photos in groups of no more than 50 from my cache, they ended up with a (1) at the end of the photo. I then had to go into my folder that I made and manually changed the name to get rid of same and then restored each one. I have all of the photos in my cache as well as another folder, and on a removable stick.

I believe I’m at a 95-100% restoration-complete level and I still plan on completing this project.

I can’t tell you how sorry I am. I was just absolutely sick to my stomach when this happened, and I don’t know how it happened because I was only trying to delete my own photos. In order to delete photos, you have to check them individually and delete them one by one.

Mar, where did you have the GBH photos (in a folder?). Your GBH photos are in Photobucket. I don’t know why your recent photo is smaller, I will check. Mar, I was going to restore your GBH photos, tell me if you would like them in a folder that you make.

I promise you everyone, I have all of the photos safely stored!

Again, my sincere apologies!

Mar, I just did a search for GBH. If you right click on the "Photobucket photo

has been removed or deleted" you will see the photo name (DSCO1664.JPG). I just restored one of your GBH links by removing the (1). See link restored link here.

Unwillingly, I am the reigning Queen of Photobucket as you can not eliminate the (1) from within Photobucket, I have to rename them from my cache, upload them to Photobucket and delete those with the (1) appended. Do you follow?

Ladies and Gentlemen! Operation GBH Restoration has just now been completed!

It has taken me close to three hours to restore. I have a bit of a bug (a parasite Trojan horse) that I’ve developed before I accidentally lost the photos that requires me to click cancel on it 18 times just to restore one photo at a time including deleting the bad one. It’s a nuisance bug and will not affect anyone outside of my computer. I have not bothered to get rid of the bug yet because I do not want to jeopardize the restoration project in any way, just in case…

I’ve been restoring photos one at a time for the past two weeks because I don’t want to screw up or have duplicates.

Mar, I’ve checked your links and they are now operational. I will continue to restore photos in my spare time. I intended to restore more photos as I’m on vacation and thought that I would work on the Christmassy ones later. I did this tonight in good faith to let you all know that I intend to perform a complete restoration for everyone. Like I said, I’m nearly finished.

If anyone if has any problems with photo links, please call them to my attention and I will fix them as soon as possible. I’ve been mainly concerned with photos of foodie meetings, personal photos or icons and so forth in the beginning.

The good news folks is, that if this ever happens again (accidental photo loss), I have full restorative capability! I do suggest however, putting a collection of photos in an album.

Alrighty then, I must rest me eyeballs for today…

No reply necessary Mar. That's just what I'll do. I'll restore everyone's photos day by day until

I'm finished. It's my fault, and I'll fix them.

I don't think it matters that it's archived here. The text inside the post goes back to

photobucket and they control what the file size is for the photos uploaded to their site.

To view the newer, smaller images with my words, I would have to go in and reload all the GBH photo images from photobucket again. Only I can't do that because OUR post here is archived--locked and un-editable.

Bummer.
