Shopping in Sarasota today. Found Geiers German Sausage market. Oh my my.

We're here till the 25th. Will visit it for sure. Maybe friday for Indian food.

We're on Longboat Key and have a nice little kitchen and outdoor grill and love to cook so that's always part of our vacation fun. We head over to the east coast on the 25th for a week there and a few days in Orlando.

Love Longboat Key!

Have you visited Joan M Durante Park? And Sonny's BBQ(s) in Sarasota/Bradenton? Drive north to Tampa Electric Manatee Viewing Center to see the manatees and walk the park. Walk downtown Bradenton waterfront - lots of events. Visit De Soto National Memorial Park and Anna Maria Island Wharf. Publix at Bay Isles has a great seafood selection (and coconut cupcakes), then watch the sunset at the public beach across Gulf of Mexico Drive - the best! Dry Dock for lunch - great food and charter boats returning. Chart House for Happy Hour. On Wednesdays, Bang Shrimp are $6 at Bonefish Grill. I see that our favorite Cuban restaurant has closed - Jose's Real Cuban Food. Check out the fresh seafood and restaurants at AP Bell Fish and Star Fish Company. Colleen

Some places my parents love

Walt's Fish House, 4144 S Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34231

For Burgers, Square One Burgers & Bar, 1737 S Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34239

Casey Key Fishouse, 801 Blackburn Point Rd, Osprey, FL 34229

For Bakery (their apple coffee cake is AMAZING), Paisano Italian Bakery, 2732 Stickney Point Rd, Sarasota, FL 34231

We went to Walt's yesterday for late lunch! Bought a smoked mullet too. They are jumping out of the

Water at our condo.

My parents buy it too. And some mullet spread to I think

I don't know exactly what because I stay clear of it. I'm not one for smoked anything. But my parents and sisters go wild for it

Here's a wonderful place to buy produce. I used to go weekly during the season. It's a little out

of the way for you but not far. Only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I linked the website. Another place I miss so much. The many lettuces, spinach, kale, arugula, radishes, green onions, turnips, beets, leeks, as well as other things. The stand is right next to the fields with a subdivision across the street. It's close to The Fresh Market on University Pkwy, another neat place to visit. Sort of like Whole Foods, small but a great source for some hard to find products.

And Morton's Market, I forgot about it because it wasn't a favorite of mine, I thought it was a bit

pricey and parking can be a problem as it's very popular. Nice looking meat and fish and lots of prepared items as well as a nice cheese selection. Not far from the Ringling Causeway in Sarasota

We made our 2nd trip to Geiers and ordered our turkey from them. Crazy. But what are ya gonna do----

The food places are all luring us in. It's an addiction! And we haven't made it to Trader Joes yet and have passed by no less than 4 times. (My airline seat companion gave me a chocolate caramel wedge from a tin that I now just have to buy for gifts!). We have to stay put to stop the food insanity. And speaking of insanity, we went to Macys to buy DH new dockers and dockers shorts(he is so not Tommy Bahama or Lauren etc). When asking for the shorts the salesman said he thought there were none left since it's out of season. Hahahahahaha----we were sweating buckets at 86 degrees and shorts are out!?!? We found some, but we looked at each other and just laughed

We drove up to the manatee viewing station yesterday and we saw 4! The water is still so warm that

We didn't think they would come in for the warmer water, but we got lucky! Thanks for that suggestion. And the power plant is one amazing complex.
