Shortbread. Still can't find Grandma's recipe. Anyone got one with cornstarch and both w & b sugar?

Oh, there we go. I didn't find this one. Thanks Gay. I am adding Nicoise olives & lavendar to use

these as an hors d'oeuvre. I'll use this recipe. Interestingly high temp.

Thanks again.

Ack. Ever have fully frustrating days? While adding the flour in bits, it flew all over the kitchen,

so I turned the speed down. But of course, I turned the speed up instead. This time the people on the street were covered in white (and we don't get snow here, just flour).

I had just had a miserable time hemming a pair of pants and stressed my old eyes.

And when I baked the cookies, a friend phoned and with my already tired eyes and phone in one hand, I misread the brownness. So I now have to do another batch. They are edible but I want perfect.

Not today.

That was a truly humbling day.

Marg, I am sure tomorrow will be a better day.....so frustrating when things go wrong in the kitchen

I have now made so much that the cows are wishing my Christmas will arrive early. I am close to

my final recipe but will probably forget the progress I've made as I have to pack it in now.

A couple of things though..........so I'll see this again:

1/2" thick
325 deg. about 50 minutes, less on dark pan
brown to white sugar 1:1
Cornstarch
use high quality butter next time, always salt-free
salt

I used the recipe Gay provided and massaged it a lot.
