Kid's/herb garden done! Joe, I want you to know that reading the blog at your garden site inspired me to do this.
Fruit punch cherry tomato, various basils, thyme, Italian parsley, sage, marjoram, Greek oregano, ringed on outer edge with strawberries, and nasturtium seeds for color/soften the edges and cootie control. I may stick in some beet and marigold seeds, but I think it's already pretty tightly full. I'll do cilantro on the porch in a pot as it hates heat. Next door my neighbor has a rosemary hedge at the sidewalk so don't need that and if you want tarragon (yuk!) you are on your own. I know it's late getting in, but I'm old and health gets in the way, so wadda gonna do? smileys/smile.gif
The 5 yro twins next door I watch often helped/planted and were super excited, which was the most awesome part. Once everything gets established I'll add a sign that's it's to share with neighbors.
It's not pretty, but hey the fabric bed (45" x 22") cost me $22 and the olla pot buried in the center to water it (drought friendly as it saves 70% water over drip irrigation) was $10. The soil/compost was part of the load for the backyard veggie garden and a couple bags of coconut core (renewable peat moss replacement) and some amendments both I already had - everything organic.
Equals this:
