Sidecar Punch (aka booze buzz) from *Cuisine at Home* 2008

So I found this bunch of old magazine shoved up on the shelf while looking for even older (but apparently long donated) Gourmet magazines. Inside June 2008 was a festive, fruity cocktail that looks like an innocent version of Hawaiian fruit punch but promises a splitting headache as pancreas and liver cry out for mercy.

But enough of that...

Sidecar Punch

Make four 4-oz cocktails.

1/2 C brandy

1/2 C cherry juice from maraschino cherries (10 oz jar)

1/4 C lemonade

2 TBL fresh lime juice

2 TBL Triple Sec

Cubed and crushed ice

Line and orange slices

Maraschino cheries

Combine and shake with ice cubes. Strain and pour over crushed ice to served. Add fruit to feel less guilty.

 
although my new favorite is Paloma: ruby red grapefruit juice, tequila, lime, dash selzer

and I'm not really a tequila girl(had to look up the spelling!)
