Since I found out the only KA mixers made the old way are the expensive ones (Pro 600 Series)...

...I've been eyeing any sales that come up.

Macy's sent me a 25% off coupon and I have a little more than $70 on a gift card, made available when I returned my Martha Stewart dutch oven.

That would put the cost at around $225 for a $400 mixer.

I'm tempted....

I would be too. The one I have is probably close to 20 years old.

My sweet grandmother showed up at Thanksgiving one year with one each for me and my sister, just because she said she couldn't imagine two girls who would enjoy having one any more than her two passionate baker granddaughters. I cherish it even more since she is gone now.

Please read the microscopic wording on the coupon carefully. Macy's suckered me in more than once...

finding out I couldn't use the coupon for the very item I wanted. Sears is irritating like that too.

Thanks for the warning. There are exclusions, but this is a "Friends and Family" coupon.

It is pretty liberal in its application. It comes from a friend of ours who is a regional exec with them. He sends them out personally to (surprise, surprise) friends and family.

I was happy to see it offers an additional 10% off certain specific catagories as well.

We'll see about the mixer. I checked by phone last night and found out the sale price on the mixer is $50 bucks more than I thought it was.

Not so sure I want to plunk down the duckets now. It's borderline...

I just went back over the "fine print" and discovered the KA mixers are...

...actually 35% off. There's an extra 10% off for "electrics", and I called Macy's and confirmed it.

So, it's back into my budgetary wheelhouse again.
