Slow cooker question

I'm eyeing two different slow cooker models.

The Kitchenaid 7 qt and the All-Clad 6 1/2 qt

The All-Clad has a programmable timer that can be set 26 hours ahead. How does that work? Does it cook and warm for that length of time or can you delay the start of cooking by starting with semi frozen meat?

Thanks,

Ann

I have a Hamilton Beach I like because it has clamps for the lid so you can transport it without

spilling, but it has not timer. Most things I do in it are meat based so I don't think I would use a timer if I had one.
