Snoopy cookies...the reveal...

Not exactly bakery quality, but first time flooding/piping a cookie. Boy the consistency of the icing is key and hard to get right. The black was both too wet and then too thick. As you can see I never found the sugar pearls even after hitting every cake supply store, Michael's, WS, and Sur la Table, which is where I found these (which I think I will be finding all over the kitchen for weeks!) I'm toying with the idea of adding a wreath given the lights are so small -- whadda think?

I did have a pretty good mishap at one point. I decided to use a spatula for flooding and ended up holding the piping bag in my other hand while doing so. I didn't see that it was dumping icing out the top until it spilled all over my shirt, the tablecloth, and the floor. Of course it was the red, so looked like a crime scene trying to clean it, lol

Beautiful! And normally, I'd say less is more but some Christmas addition might work. My preference

is for the string of lights that is just individual beads, just in case that's why you showed us lots of samples.

A wreath sounds like a lot of work though.

I am always so in awe of decorators like you.

I definitely prefer them with wreath, but if they are going to be plated together, why not leave

some nekkid. Makes us appreciate the differences.

They look spectacular.

I was not patient enough to flood them, used a spatula, next time will get a squeeze bottle.

One batch of royal icing was more than enough for all of this. I outlined Snoopy with the white, then when done started flooding the first one. Let set.

Later, piped the red, let sit, then came back to flood the first and ended up using a small offset spatula. Then let sit.

Later did almost all the black piping, let sit. Came back and did the piping for lights so I could dump balls on instead of place.

Much later decided to do wreaths, still had icing so made some green and piped edge, sit a minute, then flood centers.

I used a number #2 tip for all.
