cooking. I chose the Mint cookies from rachel ray and the kolaches and then something called Martha Washingtons that I found on Pioneer Woman's Tasty Kitchen site. these are like almond joy truffles----just with toasted pecans instead of almonds. Now I need to decide which will go into the goodie bags---maybe a mix of all 3, but I wanted to keep it simple this year----whenever is that possible?? along with the treats, I found these adorable metal picture holders in the shape of a reindeer at Kohls. I'll set that in the bag and put some curling ribbon in the curly-q thingy that holds a picure and it will stick out of the top of the bags. I just love giving little gifts! will post recipe links.

edited to say I doubled all the recipes. not recommended for the Martha Washingtons---make 2 seperate recipes or it gets too hard to stir and you need a really big bowl.

these are wonderful and quite easy. taste like almond joy, so next time I will use toasted almonds.

I toasted the pecans before I pulsed them up. and I used the Wilbur confectionary discs and added a big bar of Hershey Special Dark and also Symphony Milk for more chocolate goodness. My DH and I were both dipping them. He used the pick and I used a fork. I think the fork was much easier---just hit the fork on the side of the bowl a few times and scrape off excess chocolate before you place them back on the parchment, and it's wise to spray the parchment too. make sure the fondant balls are good and cold before dipping. One batch makes quite a few, but I didn't count. I still have some left and I have a second batch in the fridge waiting to be dipped.
