So I have a Polder and instant read therm -- I want to make fudge, do I need to get a candy one too?

I may have asked this before, but my memory is old like the rest of me. Years ago I broke mom's old glass one, the first try with some $$$$ metal one had all the numbers come off so I returned it.

Do I need to try and get another candy one?

I have an electric cooktop so heat regulation isn't all that easy, but I've stared at Gayle's fudge recipe longingly for years now. And I have everything to make it today, save the therm.

Oh, sweet!! Just popped in today and saw this!

Hope you enjoy!!!

Both of my old glass thermometers broke this year. I have a metal one that the numbers are washing off, too. I think I'll notch it! lol (at correct temps for candy making) I also have a digital battery operated one.

I've made this fudge so much that I can tell when it's ready. LOL Making it into Rocky Road was a great idea as it's NOW everyone favorite! LOL Didn't think it could be more popular than the pecan one. But it is.

I've got some ideas for other flavors, too. I think Choc Coconut will be next.

Does anyone have the Thermapen instant read thermometer?? I used one for the first time

at my sister's and was very impressed!
