Hi

I'm going to spend a few days in Lancaster County mid October. Never been there before. Any suggestions? It'll be 2 couples and a 3 year old. For dinner - now that there's a 3 year year old - we will do something very casual all together one night - and then the other 2 nights one couple goes out whereever they want while the other dines with the 3 year old.

Anyone know of must see things? Recommendations on where to stay?

I've been doing research on the web, but personal experience helps.

Thanks,

Tess

Cyn, were they dipping strawberries when you were there? 11 small fresh ones for $1.

I could not believe my eyes! Especially since Godiva chocolate was at my facility selling them here for $4 A STRAWBERRY.

Tess, I've been to the The Hotel Hersey two times many years ago

as a travel agent, attending trade shows including an overnight stay. I remember the castle-like main dining room and the food and accommodations were excellent. My, the hotel has changed tremendously but looks as if it's still a grand hotel with all of the renovations.

I remember that there was horseback riding that could be arranged by the hotel nearby but I don't see it in their 'recreation and activities' link. You might want to inquire with the hotel if interested (see Link).

My former boss who used to live in Lancaster County said that he took his family to Hersheypark in October for a Halloween event and really enjoyed it (see Image link for calendar).

I hope you enjoy Lancaster County with all there is to see!
