Sort of food related: we have a wild turkey which has taken up residence in our yard!

Usually we get a couple which pass by this time of year. they stay about a month then move on. This year, one of the couple went on the missing list and the other has taken up residence in our backyard. Rather pretty creature, likes our running water feature in the back yard, likes the remnants from the bird feeders, and what ever else it finds scratching around in the ground. For now, we are calling it Henrietta. She has my watch dog fascinated and we have taught her not to bark at the turkey. Turkey can fly up on the roof, to get to the front yard, and move about, but eventually likes the backyard better. I find it laying down occasionally, like birds do, and I am holding back from offering food, as we foodies do, because the poop on the patio is already making an impact on my ventures outside. Hopefully, she will go for greener pastures soon.

This was my smile for the day! I know Ang always makes me laugh with salmon / moose talk. Turkey

talk is knew to me. Have fun, enjoy. The only comment I have is when we had a lovely bird feeder, we ended up with a rat infestation. That was not so fun.......

A friend has a summer house in the Poconos and has wild turkeys in her lakeside

yard. The cutest story was that the turkey was a mama and flew to the top of her wild blueberry bush and mightily flapped her wings so that the berries would fall to the ground for her babies! LOL

I broke down yesterday afternoon and offered her a Graham Cracker, she ran away as fast as she could

We'll see if Henrietta returns today. LOL
