Speaking of chocolate cakes - Deb, tried your Dark Chocolate Cake - *very good*!

We made this for New Year's Eve - I baked it in 3 layers, and made a vanilla marshmallowy filling, and frosted with the ganache.

It is a very moist, dark chocolatey experience!

This has become my "Go To" Cake for a really moist, deliciously dark chocolate cake...

Perfect Chocolate Frosting
Southern Living Five Star Recipe Collection 1990

1 cup Chocolate Chips
1/2 cup Half and Half
3/4 cup Butter
2 1/2 cups sifted Powdered Sugar

Combine first 3 ingredients in a heavy saucepan.
Cook over medium heat until chocolate melts.
Remove from heat; add powdered sugar, mixing well.
Set saucepan in an ice water bath and beat at low speed
with an electric mixer until frosting holds its shape and
loses it’s glossiness.
Add a bit more half and half if needed to make a good
spreading consistency.
Makes 2 1/2 cups of frosting.
