Spend a lovely evening with colleen (momoftwo) and Angie

We had dinner at the beach and then--trapped by lightning & a thundering rain-storm--were FORCED to stay put and have dessert and more wine.

Members of the jury, Mother Nature FORCED me to have another glass of wine.

Colleen and angie had a bowl/cup of Tavern Swirl, which is a combo of New England Clam Chowder topped with a ladle of tomato-based conch chowder. It was delicious (colleen graciously shared), then colleen had fish taco, I had a grilled grouper fish sandwich and angie had cheezy mushroom caps. Later, colleen treated Angie and I to (even more) wine while she tried the cheesecake/banana/caramel--?, I'll just call it a chimichanga--the whole thing was wrapped in a flour tortilla, deep fried and then served with all kinds of goody toppings.

I am so grateful to colleen (and sweet husband Jeff) for rerouting their Florida trip to visit Angie and I. It was another fun meet-up!

Old friends. Best friends smileys/smile.gif

It was the magic of eat@ bringing Alaska, Michigan and Florida together for "an eventful evening of sharing around food!" Mix in 3 old friends, great eats, the perfect place for fun with a wrap-around deck, a bit of rain (and then a downpour), a Friday-night-packed-house inside and out, a birthday party and a live band. Yes! We talked for hours and shared each other's yummy dinner choices - including Marilyn's edamame with our first round of drinks! Laughed (a lot) - we were pretty merry! So many years of shared history and friendship!

The next afternoon back in Fort Lauderdale, Dh and I enjoyed a gift bag of goodies from Pastry Chef Marilyn - including a luscious chocolate Ball tart and amazing chocolate-orange sables. I had my remaining 1/4 tart with breakfast this morning - hey, we're on vacation! Delicious! Lucky, indeed! Colleen

How fun for all of you! Is the chowder mixing a Florida thing? I've never seen it anywhere

else but when we go to St. Augustine they have a New England / Minorcan mix that is wonderful!
