Not sure if this has been posted here, Judy posted this at TOB (that other board) some time back (don't tell anyone but I can remember making it in NC which means it is from last century). Been making it ever since and it's awesome smileys/smile.gif It's a nice hostess gift at this time of year.

Spicy Pumpkin Butter

Recipe By :Judy in Mass (15404)

Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00

Categories : Spreads/Salsa/Sauces/Dressings

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1/4 C Dark Brown Sugar2 Tbsp Sugar

1/4 C Water

1/2 Tsp Ground Allspice

1/4 Tsp Ground Ginger

1/4 Tsp Ground Cloves

1/4 Tsp Ground Nutmeg

1/2 Tsp Ground Cinnamon

1 1/2 C Pumpkin Puree

Combine the two sugars, water and spices in a 4-cup glass measure. Microwave on High for 3 minutes, stir. Add pumpkin and microwave on High for 5 minutes. Let cool and refrigerate. Keeps several weeks in refrigerator, or can be frozen. It can also be packed in hot, sterilized jars and sealed. If packed in jars, would be safer if they were processed for 10 minutes in a water-bath canner.

Makes 1 1/2 cups.

Serving Ideas : Would be good on toast, or as

a topping for ice cream.

It is good...and another way to use it....

my son, who is a pumpkin pie fanatic, has suggested putting it into small tart shells and topping with whipped cream.
I personally like it on toasted English muffins.

Enjoy.
