Substituting flours

Hey all. So, my dad is back for Thanksgiving and I need to make some adjustments to my recipes. I'm going to bake gingersnaps and wondered if I can substitute whole wheat flour for white flour in a 1:1 proportion?

 
I don't recommend substituting 1-1 - you could end up with hockey pucks. Try substituting 1/3-1/2

of the white with the whole wheat.
