I want to make a dark chocolate cookie with pieces of candy canes in them. I thought an ice box cookie would be good but am afraid that they would be difficult to slice. Then I found this recipe from Death by Chocolate Cookies but it is with white chocolate. The ingredients are:

3/4 c all purpose flour

1/2 t baking powder

1/2 t salt

4 oz white chocolate

1/2 c granulated sugar

6 T butter

1 large egg

2 t vanilla extract

4 oz peppermint candies

You cream the butter and sugar. Add the egg and vanilla extract then add the white chocolate, melted. Finally you add the dry ingredients.

Do you think I can just sub a dark chocolate? TIA

Why don't you just use a recipe for dark chocolate cookies? I have several great ones. Let me know.
