Suessical Potluck celebrating Dr. Seuss' Birthday...

I work at an elementary school. We will be celebrating Reading (Read Across America) and Dr. Seuss at the same time on March 2nd. We are having a Suessical Potluck...and I'm looking for ideas (to help others with) for names of dishes and what those dishes might actually be...

Here's my example... I'm bringing Sam's Green Eggs and Ham, which will be green marbled deviled eggs garnished with ham rosettes. I'll crack the shells and dye them green before I shell the eggs. That should yield a nice green egg.

What do you think?

Very cool! Love Dr. Seuss! Will you be serving it or just using as a prop?

Immediately comes to mind is 1 fish, 2 fish, 3 fish - blue, using swedish fish in blue jello in a clear glass container.

Cat in the hat - You could make a "hat" shaped 3D cake and decorate w/ the stripes. OR - you could "cheat" and cut out a sheet cake and use bands of twizzlers and small marshmellows.

Gotta love Hornton, just now sure how to make an elephant into food! BUT; if you have a stuffed elephant; you could make rice krispie treats in the shapes of an egg and/or flower.

Grinch Stole Christmas - Michael has posted a technique on how to make a 3 dimensional christmas tree out of cookie cutters. Could be decorated; can also make "presents" out of extra cake or rice krispies from above.

Grinch - Would be a fun one, just do not have an idea....

I recall a foot book..... Somehow feet and food, I am struggling with...

Thing1 and Thing 2 come to mind, but can't come up w/ any ideas!

What a fun idea you have; your students are lucky to have you as a creative teacher!

have fun!

I found several that would be good, such as Thidwick the Big Hearted Moose for chocolate mousse,

Ten Apples Up On Top! (Apple pie, apple crisp, apple bars...)
The Butter Battle Book (Butter cookies)
One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish (lots of possibilities)
One Fish, Two Fish, Three, Four, Five Fish
Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? (something with beef)
I Wish That I Had Duck Feet
And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street
Scrambled Eggs Super
Horton Hatches the Egg

I love this idea...

It could work with "Goldfish" sandwiches... I think Pepperidge Farm make bread shaped like fish...

Veggie lasagna! What a great idea!!

I have a couple not-meat-eaters who always appreciate an un-meated dish. Roasted veggies make a wonderful lasagna! Even down to gluten free pasta...
I'm so excited!

So who knew there was a Green Eggs and Ham COOKBOOK?

Who Roast Beast... Yots in Pots? Moose Juice and Goose Juice... Scholttz's Knots... Very interesting!
Oh, the fun this can be!
