Do you have neighbours constantly peering over to see what's cooking? Geez. And about

these croissants, are you making them or can you buy them frozen, ready to bake?

Marg, I did my baking yesterday...

and made everything except the croissants. Trader Joe sells frozen croissant dough made with butter and flour. One takes it out of the freezer, places on baking sheets, lets rise overnight, then bakes in the morning. With this weekend's schedule, that's all I could manage. LOL

I'm going to experiment with my own homemade croissants, shaped, then frozen, to see how they turn out. Hopefully as good as this.

I really like the idea of setting out the frozen croissants on baking sheets before going to bed then baking them fresh in the morning.

aaaah...........Trader Joe's. I wonder if a bakery here would sell me a frozen version. I used to

do that with bread, many years ago (I'd ask the bake shop to give me the frozen version) and now it's being sold frozen, packaged and is a big hit. There's a frozen (8 minutes from finish) baguette that is outstanding.

One of the shops here makes a croissant that I think is close to any lovely sidewalk cafe in France. Most certainly though, I'll always miss the cafe part.

Enjoy your brunch.

It doesn't matter if it is spot on, we will ALWAYS miss the sidewalk cafe!

There just is no question.

And I will always fondly remember your quest to guess Le Secret ingredient in the mille-feuille at the Le Café de la Paix à Paris!

I lit into that one like a dog on a bone.

And I was so happy that I came up with the correct answer! ;7 )

Glorious. Maybe you could just set up a Skype stream of the buffet table + the dining table?! smileys/wink.gif

Oh how lovely! Your friends are in for a real treat!! I am impressed, not only

with the menu, but that you had such a big family get together on Sat to prepare for! You must have been very busy the last couple of days, as well as very organized!!!
