Working backwards...

1. Dinner tonight: salmon; corn, black bean, tomato, and avocado salad. Toasted asiago cheese bread.

2. We went to the Chelsea branch of my favorite bagel place here, Brooklyn Bagel Company, for a pre-baby-store-foray breakfast on Saturday. We used to live behind and above the Astoria branch, and while I miss their bagels and spreads dearly, my thighs do not...

3. Kicking and screaming, I have had to switch to all decaf coffee. Sure, it tastes ok, but I've lost my zing. (Said the addict.)

4. Went to the Abstract Expressionism exhibit at the Guggenheim yesterday and then to Cafe Sabarsky (a couple blocks south) for Kleiner mokkas (one decaf, *snarl*) and Sacher torte. smileys/smile.gif

5. Contemplating making a chocolate tart for a guest arriving Thursday night. Start with the dessert and work backwards, sez I. Not sure what we'll do for dinner yet.

6. Beginning to plan an engagement party for my brother and his fiancée. Florida foods and Colorado foods? Fall foods? I'm not really sure where to begin. It'll be a mingle-y thing, not sit-down, but I don't know what the crowd size is yet and I'm not sure what time of day it'll be--I'm guessing evening. But then it should be a sit-down thing. Or just throw in more hot hors d'oeuvres? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

 
Oh, good idea. I like it! I'm eagerly awaiting soup weather--the humidity here is about 88 percent!
