They seem to always be talking about fish, rice, and fresh fruit on the show (but what else is new!). Any and all ideas appreciated. Chicken would be a good option for me too. Not all of us like fish as a main course.

'Have plenty of time, to pre-make, but only about an hour to fix "the night of".

Thanks again.

Hubby and I are hooked too. It's refreshing to hear someone else>>>

admit it. Everyone always say they don't watch it. I don't think it would be on this long if it was only you and I. Right? Anyway, they haven't had much drama with the food on this show. An occasional fish and hubby just said snails. We'll brainstorm and see if we can come up with something fitting. He's pretty clever.

Escargot! It's not Panamanian, but they sure consume lots of snails...

and you can get them all prepared (butter, crumbs, etc.) in better grocery stores. You just have to cook them. Their delicious. Very garlicky. Coconut is big too, and that's also available. Just ask the produce manager how to open it. Serve the "milk" and cut up the flesh for chewing. No dinner, but a fun novelty. And I too love Survivor. I used to call it my "guilty pleasure" but I don't feel guilty in the least. It's very fun and I'd sure love to do some of those challenges. They look like so much fun. And if Jerry doesn't win, I'll be so P.O.'d. He deserves it plain and simple.

Oh yeah, forgot about the coconut... also an interesting, easy salad, REC: Chickpea "Ceviche"

CEVICHE DE GARBANZOS (Chickpea "Ceviche")

3 cans garbanzo beans
1/3 cup cider vinegar
1 cup olive oil
1 finely chopped onion
2 to 3 Tablespoons fresh chopped parsley
2 teaspoons dried oregano leaves
3 cloves of garlic, finely minced
1 Tablespoon ketchup
3 pork sausages or "chorizos", fried and chopped (optional)
1 small jar baby corn, sliced (optional)
salt and cayenne pepper to taste

Mix all ingredients in a large jar or glass bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let stand in the refrigerator overnight. Serve cold as an hors d'oeuvre with saltine crackers.

P.S. I'm hoping Cirie will win, although Terry and Aras are worthy of it too!

We ended up having Meryl's coconut macaroons, the chickpea "ceviche"...

grilled grouper with rice, chicken salad stuffed inside of giant snail shells (sorry, don't do escargots), and orange martinis (the reward challenges always seemed to include orange juice). Come to think of it, we could've had "outhouse wine" - lol, you'd have to know the show.

Thanks for your ideas.
