and Sarah/Charleston, thanks for posting the recipe from Anne. WOW! I will never boil another corned beef again. Never. DH and I always have cb&c for our birthday dinner (his is on 3/18 and mine is 3/17 - my mom was soooo original). I braised my corned beef in Corona Extra and it was FABULOUS.

OMG! I can't wait for the Reubens I will prepare tomorrow.

 
This reminds me.... anyone have a good recipe for corned beef hash??

I've had "home made" hash in restaurants and dont' like it... they add too much stuff to it. Something simple and basic?

 
Hi cheezz! I just chop onions finely, saute them in bacon grease...

Chop fine the left-over corned beef, raw potatoes. When onions are translucent add the beef and potatoes, a bay leaf, and saute until the potatoes are done. Add lots of black pepper, and remove the bay leaf. Serve with poached eggs!

We have thunder and lightening (first day of Spring!) so I'm going off-line NOW!

 
We were SO disappointed with the braised corned beef! No more tender than usual and BEER taste smileys/frown.gif

Also, since the corned beef didn't come with the little spice packet, I had to tuck in the cabbage around the corned beef and it just tasted like warm beer... had to toss it. Maybe there's a substitute for the beer...???
