Sweet and Spicy Tomato Glaze from Real Simple July 2018

I used this on top of mini meat loafs. Just enough heat for me, without being too ketchup-y tasting.

Ingredients

¼ cup balsamic vinegar

¼ cup honey

¼ cup tomato paste

3 tablespoons olive oil

4 teaspoons kosher salt

2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes

2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil

¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Mix and spread on pork, steak, burgers, hot dogs during last five minutes of grilling.

Marilyn's Notes:

I didn't have honey; used agave.

Thought it was too salty. Cut back and add more as needed.

My red pepper flakes looked a little dark (read: old) so I used Aleppo flakes instead.

Very nice on meatloaf.
