I think it has all started now and life will not be the same, throughout North America. A scary time indeed!!

Mary, yes, we live in Ottawa. Yesterday was sad and scary. We live close enough to the downtown area

and were very aware of helicopters and surveillance planes flying overhead. Let's hope other radicalized folks are not encouraged to act out.

Yesterday's shooter was a disturbed young man addicted to drugs. We need to beef up services to help

young people.

I hear with the universal health care in Canada that drug treatment can be over 8 mos. wait.

Health care is abominable here. Has been for about 20 years. One can spend many months waiting

for critical surgery that in fact, may never happen. Some people die waiting.

This guy apparently had his passport cancelled, had applied to Libya for citizenship but was refused, had a criminal background in Can and frequented jihadist sites.

Hmmmm. Enough said. At least by me.

Access to good health in Canada care depends upon where you live. My husband and I are very

lucky to live in Ottawa where wait times are reasonable. We have a fabulous family doctor and excellent connections to specialists. That is not true for everyone. There are many folks who cannot find a family doctor and those folks are reliant on clinics.

If an emergency problem crops up I can call my doctor's office and be seen the same day. If my doctor is not working that particular day I will be seen by a partner.
