It turned out I'm not such a bad baker after all, lol! Everyone loved the cookies. I ended up making:

Both Nut & Cherry Ting a Lings (Stupidly Simple)

Slice and Bake cookies from Cheezz. Made butterscotch and glad I made 2 recipes because they were VERY popular.

Toffee Squares from AngAk, these were excellent and fun to make.

Puff Cookies similar to Mexican Wedding Cookies

I also cheated and bought 2 boxes of cookies from Walmart because we ran out of home made today!

Thanks again I can always count on the good people here.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!

Help! I went to 'Stupidly Simple' but couldn't find the Ting a Lings... could you link them?

Nut and Cherry Ting-a-Lings

'Morning cheezz. I'm not sure they're posted here, but here's an easy, adaptable recipe from betterathome.com:

Adjust with whatever ingredients you want (1/2 cup dried cherries, 1/4 cup walnuts, etc.).

12 oz vanilla (or chocolate)-flavored candy coating or almond bark, cut into pieces
1 1/2 cups chow mein noodles
1 cup salted peanuts

Cooking Instructions:
1. Line cookie sheet with waxed paper. In 2-quart saucepan, melt candy coating over low heat, stirring constantly.

2. Stir in chow mein noodles and peanuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Let stand until set. Store in refrigerator.

This is like the one I made except I used rice krispies then

made 2 batches one with chopped pecans and one with dried cherries. So easy, I was almost embarassed to put them on the table but they got eaten up fairly quickly. I'll post the reciper later today.
