Thanks! I'm sending this thread off to my niece...she'll know what Gracie

already has and what she might enjoy (and can actually do).

You guys are the best!

Tamagotchi's....(once again spelled incorrectly) around $20.00; legos makes a

girly-girl set, I can't recall the name. (I think it begins with an "E") It is designed for 7-9 yr old girls, all pink/purple, etc. Really would depend on her mobility level.

Moe! Larry! Cheese! Moe! Larry! Cheese!

With that said, I would suggest a Barbie MP3 player. I bought one for Xmas and it was a huge success and she still uses it. I bought the one that was around $30 but it was on sale for like $17 or something crazy.
It not only stores songs, but you can go online to a Barbie virtual world that is both fun and safe for kids.
The same little girl loves to play with paper dolls that I print off the internet, but they have to be in black and white so she can color them. I print the doll on cardstock and the clothes on regular computer paper. It keeps her busy for hours. One suggestion, supply her with a manila envelope or a cute box (you know the kind that looks kind of like a hatbox) a new box of crayons (64 of course), scissors, glitter, sequins and other stuff she can decorate the clothes with, and a glue stick. A journal might be nice too, depending on her writing ability.
When my husband gets home, I will put the link to the paper dolls that are really cute.

Which arm did she break? Arts & crafts (beading, painting, paper-doll clothing design stuff)

an "activity box" stuffed with stuff to do. I love the kareoke idea!!!!!

Not sure on your budget, but you would be the hippest aunt if you

gave her Nintendo DS. I would ask her mom first, cause it is a "video game", but based on her circumstances, it might be worthwhile investment to keep her from moving too much.

American Girl dolls may be a hit.

CDs or DVDs - High School Musical, Camp Rock and Jump In are the rage.

What about a small Kareoke (sp) machine....Gives her a different outlet to let off her energy. (Seven yr old girls love to demonstrate their angelic voices!) Anything with a mike. (I believe they even may make them with a CD player, not too expensive, and you can combine with one of the CDs listed above.

Hope these help! Glad she is recovering so well!

Best,
Barb

Gracie Update...and what I'll be sending....

Email from my niece Jennifer: We had good news at the doctor's, her growth plate is not damaged, so her arm should grow just fine. She will have 3-1/2 more weeks with the pins, then they will take them out and then she will be casted for another 2 weeks. She may need some rehab, but we will know more about that after the casts come off. She got a new cast, chose purple and is doing good. A little stir crazy but definitely healthy enough to fight with her brother and sister.

Turns out my brother-in-law (PapPap) has a karaoke at his house for when they visit. But Jenn loved the idea of the Leggos and so I'm going with that one. Thanks again for all the great ideas.
