Thanks to charlie for recommending "Laughing Seed" in Asheville.

Tupelo Honey had an hour wait so we scooted around the corner and had lunch at LS before leaving town.

The Harmony Bowl was wonderful. I'm not sure I would have appreciated the dish as much if I hadn't been eating healthier on this new diet challenge. Then again, we also ordered the daily grilled cheese sandwich...and the Indian platter...and a slice of polenta lemon cake "to go" so I have to wonder if I'm even allowed to use the word "healthy" in this context.

Maybe gluttonous would be more appropriate?

We had dinner the night before at LAB (Lexington Ave Brewery). Sadly they were out of dark beer at 6:30...we were astonished. Asheville has won BEER CITY four years running and we pick the ONE BREWERY in town that was out of dark beer? Oh well, the food was fabulous: Mongolian beef tacos, plus a veritable dinner plate mound of matchstick french fries with truffle oil and Larry ordered the Yucatan coq au vin....some chicken magic with mole sauce, plantains, rice, beans, and avocadoes.

Thanks again.

wigs, Country Kitchen has closed down and we got into town too late for Chelsea's.

And we had to leave fairly early the next day. But I'm keeping your info and trying that basil dressing recipe. Thanks again.

Glad you enjoyed Laughing Seed M--Greenman Brewery makes a

bunch of dark ales. I'm sorry that I didn't bring a few bottles home.

We ate everything from wood fired pizza to smokey BBQ'd ribs and pulled pork.

There's a really cheap fast-food chain in NC called "Cookout". The shakes are very very good. I had the Strawberry Cheesecake--with a hunk of cheesecake added to the mixer at the last minute. I think it was about $2.50.
