the Bacon - Booze experiment has commenced...

Tonight I started the Bacon - Booze experiment! So exciting.

I used Missy's process (see link) and Traca's suggestion of Black Forest cured bacon from Whole Foods. To maximize surface area exposure I chopped the bacon up and it and its fat are bobbing inside two jars, one of Makers Mark and one of Sky Vodka!

So far after a few hours the vodka has taken on a deep caramel color. I'm hoping this will make a good Bloody Mary. Or that BLTini posted by Richard in Cincy.

The bourbon is destined for a Manhattan with that great rib eye I have lurking in the freezer.
