It's funny--I'd like to think it's deliberate, but I'm sure it's just an algorithm. Still, part of me can't help thinking that the message Amazon is sending is, "Let us tell you how much we hate big, heavy hardcover books. We'll practically pay you to take them off our hands..."

Although, to be honest, the signal-to-noise ratio is pretty frustrating, most days. I follow a bunch of folks in publishing and food on Twitter--I think that's how I caught wind of this. smileys/smile.gif

 
Sherlock---I have tried and tried to watch and like this, but it makes my head hurt, when he does

that brain vacation thing, or whatever. he can be so brutal verbally too. that Christmas party episode was painful to watch. at least to me.

For $7 a great deal, but I received it as a gift after it came out and I was underwhelmed, even though I wanted to like it.

I love, love, love reading cookbooks, but just couldn't get into this one because of the type/text/graphics. It was too difficult to read, so I gave up quickly.

 
A lot of people compained about the hard-to-read text, so they

came up with an improved version, which is the one I have - got it for $5.86! The one that Erin linked to should also be the newer, improved version.

 
I have to own the DVD for the subtitles & pause function to figure out what he's analyzing.

I liked the Irene Adler episode much better on second viewing. There were several key points I missed.

He can be horribly honestly cruel, tis true.

One of my favorite lines from the first season was when he told everyone at a crime scene to shut up! because their thoughts were annoying him.

but some folks still got the yellow text. Here's hoping they get it right.

 
Yes, a recorded version of Sherlock is a must...

because of all the required rewinding and reviewing sections to grasp the deluge of information. We have them stored in the DVR for repeated playback. LOVE this series on Masterpiece!

 
I really like this cookbook..

Unfortunately, I have the yellow typeface original edition. Yes, that was an incredibly bad decision from the design team. What the H were they thinking? I guess they weren't.

But, the recipes in this book are absolutely amazing, tested, and accurate. Everything I've made from this book has been superlative (the carrot cake and the French Chocolate Macaroons are the definitive versions for me now). I just wish I had more time, calorie, and carb allotment to experiment with it further.

 
So mine just arrived -- with yellow text smileys/frown.gif the ISBN #'s don't match inside vs cover

Amazon is sending a replacement, but we'll see what arrives given the cover/book don't match.
