The dumpling report. Couldn't wait any longer so I had these for breakfast this morning.

I will never order dumplings in a restaurant again. These are soooooo easy and sooooo good. I used a combo of the recipes. Pork, Napa, garlic, green onion, ginger, soy sauce and a few drops of sesame oil. Pan fried for 2 min. added water and steamed. Outstanding.

I made a TON, though. If I freeze these, do I defrost before cooking? Or do you think I'll only be able to use them in a soup, or something like that.

Thanks, again, for all your help!

Yum, I've always wanted to make these. I have bought the frozen ones, here are the instructions for

cooking them, don't know why it wouldn't work with yours, you could experiment a little with the times.

Put 1/2 cup water and 1-2 teaspoons cooking oil in a cool nonstick pan or skillet. Place potstickers in pan with flat side down. (If using a stainless steel pan, coat side and bottom with non-stick cooking spray.)

Cover, cook on high heat for 6 minutes or until water almost evaporates.

Remove lid, Cook on high heat until bottoms of potstickers are brown (approx 2 minutes). If desired, turn potstickers over and brown both sides.

Transfer to serving plate, cool for two minutes and serve wtih potsticker sauce.

You can definitely pan fry them from frozen, and adding to soup would be fine.

I heat a bit of oil in a frying pan, add the dumplings and cook til brown on one side, flip them and add a small amount of water to finish cooking.

The method Curious posted will also work with frozen.

I'm so glad you got your fix! I actually had some last night, all of the talk about them was making me crave them.

Wouldn't these be like perogies? They are boiled, then eaten as is or pan fried. So ...

wouldn't you have to at least boil them before pan frying first?

Like empanadas, aren't they fried first to cook the dough...then frozen?

No need to boil before hitting the pan - they cook up perfectly fresh or frozen

by the same method. Both my friend and the Trader Joe's bag give those instructions. smileys/wink.gif
