the fruits of my Sunday labor

3 batches of pickled veggies using the Penny's NW pickled asparagus brine, one batch of zucchini pickles and a batch of the fig and rhubarb jam---2 sizes of jars. I added some cinnamon to the jam, so it's a bit darker than it should be, but I felt like making it a bit spicy. I tried out one jar of veggies in a bloody mary tonight---slurp! good. I also baked the blueberry pecan coffeecake. whew!

Dawn, we've just started getting a few but when they ripen they'll be gone...

WEIRD gardening year again this year!

I've been buying them at Farmer's Market all summer. *sigh

Beautiful Ang! I have to leave mine on the counter for a few days so

that I can admire them. What is in the jar sitting to the right of the box? Is the jar on the left a half-gallon one? They look so good!

the jar on the right is the one I opened---I just couldn't wait. it has spears of carrot/zucchini

and a few hunks of patty pan squash that filled up the top(I ran out of green beans). the bigger jar is one of those peaches jars that you find in the refrigerator section. I want to say it's a quart---but it's the only larger jar I had for the longer green beans and carrots and zukes. It has just a one piece cap, but it's not being stored for long---it's my private stash. I'll give most of the other jars away.

I gave up trying to grow anything. The birds and squirrels get it all before they're ripe smileys/frown.gif
