The reception planning....

.... just published a post a few hours ago with the whole menu of the reception and a few bits and pieces on the prep.

I included a link to one of Dr. Schekman's talks at the university that maybe some of you might be interested to listen to. The beginning is very interesting and talks about his life, you don't have to sit through the full hour, but if you do, you won't regret it.. feel free to share the link to his talk if you know someone who likes this type of stuff

Beautiful food, bright, happy flowers, great hosts....what more can anyone ask for...great job!

Thanks for the link to the talk...looking forward to listening.

great post! I'm looking forward to listening to the lecture and I'm trying those pancakes with our

salmon this summer. thanks!

Well done, Sally! I'm so happy all the hard work paid off and you could also enjoy his visit.

{so...Nobel prize winner...I wonder where my brain translated that to poet laureate.)

Sally, thanks so much for the link to the talk given by Dr. Randy Schekman

Then I saw on the right side all the videos one could click on. What a great thing! I watched Allen & Alinea: One Man’s Odyssey Through an Iconic Cookbook....such a fun story, especially since I had read Grant Achatz's book about how Alinea came to be. It was a fascinating story.

It would be interesting to know how the fellow in the video was able to afford all the special equipment, not to mention the myriad of ingredients needed to accomplish such a feat. Anyway thanks for all the interesting material, that I plan to pour through each day I can.

I just put the bread dough into the fridge for its overnight rise.

It will be baked tomorrow and go to our family cookout.

Thanks for sharing!

The bread is fabulous, but there is an omission in the recipe...

After baking for 15 minutes and rotating the pan, there is no further baking time mentioned.

I left mine in the oven for an additional 5 or 6 minutes and that seemed to be about enough.

The results are wonderful!!!
