i'm making the cake later today, but, oh, the sauce is great.

For anyone familiar with caramelizing sugar, I knew his timing was way underestimated, and it did take a lot longer than it said. I used kosher salt & it is very distinctly salty, so that much table salt would be too much.

I'm dreaming of this sauce over chocolate malt ice cream.

 
A very popular Texas beer. It is a lighly hopped dark lager.

The light bitterness & malt pair nicely with chocolate & caramel.

The cake is kind of like a Stout cake, but the bock isn't as heavy or sweet.
