The single thing that makes me RAVENOUSLY hungry:

Any of you ever seen the PBS hour-long special "Sandwiches You Will Like" where they travel all over the country and check out all the regional sandwich specialties? It was on yesterday. I want one of all of them. Lobster Roll, St. Paul, Hot Brown, Philly Cheese Steak, Muffaletta, etc., etc.

Seen it; loved it; saw it again; took notes. When I travel on business...

...I plan to splurge a few calories on a few of these specialties!

There were so many I'd never seen or heard of. Every sandwich was beautiful

in a unique way, as were the people working in the shops. Oh, the falafel all wrapped up in all its goodies was a gorgeous sight. Some of them were strange too. Who'd have thought to put an egg foo young patty fresh from the fryer on squishy white bread with lettuce, tomato & mayo? Or french fries on a sandwich? (although I've got to admit we put fritos on bologna sandwiches in grade school)

The so-called "California Burrito" has french fries in it. Most of the taco shops...

...here and in San Diego have it on the menu.

It's good if you eat it when the fries are still hot and crisp. Don't wait more than a few minutes though. This, according to my son who loves them. I save my grease calories for other indulgences.

I guess it's not a lot worse than potato & egg breakfast tacos. Most of the

places around use chopped up french fries for the potatoes.
