Never use one cliche when 10 will do!
I recently watched some episodes of the Halloween wars. Thank god for DVR so I could FF through those constant and highly annoying "interviews" who would spew non-stop cliches and sports metaphors (stepping up to the plate! going to bat! In the red zone! Going for the goal! Going for the gold!--gag).
Interesting show and a lot of talent on display, but why do these programs think showing all that non-stop "drama" is better than giving closeups of the detailing, technique and finsihed product. Those were nearly afterthoughts. They barely panned over the finished results at the judging.
Interesting show, but it could have been so much better and entertaining if they would have tried to make it a learning experience instead of one b|+chy provocation after the next. IMHO of course.
