There are some interesting cookbooks among this month's Kindle Bargain books

One is Fresh From the Farmers' Market by Alice Waters. It doesn't show any of the recipes, or even a list of recipes. I am tempted to buy it anyway because it is Alice Waters, but I bought 7 other books, and my allowance is almost gone. I buy myself a $30 gift card at a time, so that DH doesn't see enormous strings of Amazon payments in the credit card, which would freak him out. The card I bought at the beginning of February lasted through April, but the one I bought at the end of April is almost exhausted. Turns out that I have bought 11 Kindle books in the last week. I really think that I owe myself a backdated gift card for March.

So - should I buy the Alice Waters as well? I bought the Ancient Egyptian cooking book, but I suspect that it will make me want to buy a Kindle Fire, so that I can see the pictures in color, which I can't afford to do.

off topic Lana, I made/boxed up four jars and the &@#^*(()&

gas station Post Office substation changed their hours from 3:30 to 3:00 on Saturdays. And there I stood...at 3:20 and they refused to sell me a flat-rate stamp. Frizzle frat! I don't think even doing the Mailbox Macarena would have helped.

Box is packed and ready to go, but now it won't go out until Monday. Larry will mail it out.

2 jars of Dyslexic sauce for your friends, 2 jars for your family.

I didn't put a last name on the box...hoping they'll still deliver.

Yes, Post Offices seem to delight in behavior like this.

But thank you very much, and thank Larry for mailing it. It is very sweet of you to send me some as well smileys/smile.gif, and my last name is Pereira. I never thought to add it to my address.

I was telling the other Marilyn that I had known you since 1996, but had never met you. M is renowned at school for being the least techie person in the place, and she really could not understand having on-line friends.

Thanks again, I know Robert will really appreciate this.

Mar, you can print your own flat rate stamp...

You can have USPS mail you boxes (for free)
and print your own postage/tape it to box, then go online and have your mailperson pick it up the next day from your door/mailbox/porch/behind the gate/etc.

Yes. I am that lazy. smileys/smile.gif

(I also bought a mail scale so I can use it for non-flat rate and FedEx shipments.)

And a shout-out to Michael in Sarasota. He generously shared jars with me and now I'm sharing

them with Lana's friends.

Keep the love movin', one jar of Dyslexic Sauce at a time.

Thanks, Michael!! You're a prince.

Thanks Lana! I purchased the "Rice and Curry: Sri Lankan Home Cooking" cookbook

and it cost $1.99. When I received my receipt from Amazon, they took $1.99 off as a gift certificate so it was free. I didn't enter any promotion code, they just did it. I will post any recipes I try.
Thanks again, Lana!

I bought that one too!

But it looks as though it may be another one that I should be reading on a color reader. There are some interesting recipes there.

What luck to get it for nothing! I'm so glad that you found something you liked.

I just bought the Alice Waters' Farmer's Market cookbook too,

and received that one free too. I looked at my account and they have been deducting the cost from a gift card I have on file there. LOL
