Hi guys,

From the very beginning a couple members have been encouraging me to write a User Agreement in order to deal with any "bad" people who might show up. I also needed to put some legal stuff in there as I'm sure you know, every site needs legal stuff and we all know why. There's nothing in there that anyone should be worried about; it's to protect you from people showing up to harrass you or promote their own agenda, and it's to protect FK too to make sure that we're here for you for the long haul.

So far everyone's behavior has been totally in keeping with the User Agreement as I see it so don't think that you have to make any changes because of it.

I know some of you will be wondering about posting recipes and there are just a few things to keep in mind:

- recipes are generally not copyrightable

- they are only copyrightable if the description is accompanied by substantial literary expression (a rare occurance), and in that case, all you need to do is to re-write the recipe in your own words

- collections of recipes are copyrightable, such as if you posted every single recipe in a cookbook or website

- it's not humanly possible for me to look up the original source of every recipe you post anyway

- of course as a matter of professional courtesy it is best to cite your source

So there you have it. I've been working on this for a couple of weeks and it was developed with the help of a few regulars (thanks guys).

And, I am SO glad you put on there to not only post recipes!! smileys/wink.gif Yipppee! I tend to get rather long winded so you may have to tell me to button it up!

I have what, 452 posts now and I think I've posted 5 recipes since this started. I don't know what the HECK I've been talking about all this time! I am going to try to do better.

 
I like this board.

Because this board operates like the User agreement specifies, it is a lot better than some of the others. Thanks for all your work.
