These are my dreams. I woke up with sweaty palms after this one....

and it was so vivid, I couldn't remember if it had actually happened or if it was a dream. My luck? It's a premonition. smileys/smile.gif

Afternoon nap. I never remember my dreams, but this one got my attention! I'm having lunch w Crescent Dragonwagon and I prepared the food myself. She comes around the corner w Thomas Keller, who she has just invited to lunch. ACK! Thomas Keller! Then I think: did I do my best? Yes. Is the food any different for my friends than it would be for Thomas Keller? No. Okay, Thomas can eat.

Take that, Freud!

PS. In my dream, I kept wanting to taste the food to make absolutely sure it was properly salted, but I couldn't reach the bowl. By the time I got to it, everything was polished off. I'll never know, and Thomas Keller is too polite to say anything. Agh!

I think I have had a similar dream...

but it was Julia Child who popped in to partake.

I was nervous at first, but then remembered how down to earth she was when I met her, and all was great!

I thought for sure you were going to say Richard in Cinci. Sweaty palms?

I'm thinking heart palpitations, and that is with all admiration Richard.

I would never have this dream because I don't care enough about what anyone

else thinks of my cooking as long as I am happy with it. Of course, I do enjoy the compliments though smileys/smile.gif

I'm the opposite. I care a lot about the food & what people think, compliments? Meh. The goal

for me, is truly delicious food. The difference between okay and delicious is palpable, and there's almost a physical reaction.

The P.S. part of that dream? I was recently hosted by a restaurant for dinner. The chef worked with incredible ingredients, and I tried nearly everything on the menu. The worst part was, some dishes...or components of dishes, were oversalted, others were undersalted. His uneven hand with salt affected the overall experience. My guess is, it wasn't him but his support crew that had issues with the salt, but in the end, the chef is responsible for the final dish.
