Things that are purported to be healthy

McDonald's has been blanketing the airwaves with commercials for their new yogurt fruit smoothies and putting free coupons in the paper too. For grins I decided I'd look up the nutritional info. A small (12 oz) has 210 calories, .5 grams of fat, only 2 grams of protein and 48 grams of carbs. They must just wave the yogurt carton over the top of the glass of fruit concentrate and ice.

Jack in the Box did something similar with smoothies from Minute Maid. They were awful!

Pure sugar with a little fruit flavoring added.

I was basically a slurpee with too much sugar.

Yuck!

I haven't tried McDonalds' yet, but a friend said that she had a

blueberry one as she came through Gila Bend. She really liked the taste. I tried to get one at the McDonalds in the local WalMart, but they don't have the machine yet. A new McD's is supposed to open soon. If I get one, I guess I cannot think of it as a healthy snack.

Loaded with sugar too. smileys/frown.gif I have a coupon for a free 12oz. Debating whether "Free" is worth it!

This subject came up at family dinner on Sunday. Apparently my neice twitters or follows tweets?

from the author of Eat this, not that... I really don't understand the twitter thing, but she said she recently rec'd a twitter or update from the author specifically on the McCafe fruit smoothies. (As you can imagine, it was not positive). It detailed the calories / carbs and compared it to eating a Large or X-Large Fries.... ((Something like that))
