42. When you go to buy bread in the grocery store, have you ever wondered

which is the freshest, so you "squeeze" for freshness or softness? Did

you know that bread is delivered fresh to the stores five days a week?

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Each day has a different

color twist tie. They are: Monday = Blue, Tuesday = Green, Thursday =

Red

Friday = White and Saturday = Yellow. So if today was Thursday, you would

want red twist tie; not white which is Fridays (almost a week old)! The

colors go alphabetically by color Blue- Green - Red - White - Yellow,

Monday through Saturday. Very easy to remember. I thought this was

interesting. I looked in the grocery store and the bread wrappers DO have

different twist ties, and even the ones with the plastic clips have

different colors. You learn something new everyday! Enjoy fresh bread

when you buy bread with the right color on the day you are shopping.

Comments on some of these things!

1. Budweiser beer conditions the hair

Of course, rinse well or people will think you have been hitting your conditioner! . . .

3. Cool whip will condition your hair in 15 minutes

Maybe I'll try this as I cannot stand the TASTE of Cool Whip--but it doesn't smell too bad!

4. Mayonnaise will KILL LICE, it will also condition your hair

I believe this is the same with any oil--smothers the lice and conditions the hair.

5. Elmer's Glue - paint on your face, allow it to dry, peel off and see the dead skin and blackheads if any

gotta try this, as those pore cleanser/blackhead removal strips are EXPENSIVE! Elmers HAS to be cheaper. . . .

7. Sunburn - empty a large jar of Nestea into your bath water

I had gum surgery once and the dentist had me moisten a teabag and hold pack it in on the incision to help cut the bleeding. I think the tannin in the tea is the helper for both burn and bleed. . .

9. Burn your tongue? Put sugar on it!

I could have tried this tip about a week ago as that is when I last burnt my toungue

10. Arthritis? WD-40 Spray and rub in, kill insect stings too . . .

I personally think this is an urban legend, at least for the Arthritis.

11. Bee stings - meat tenderizer

Done it. Works. . .

15. Stinky feet - Jello!

But does it make your feet smell like rotten fruit? And is that better? smileys/wink.gif

16. Athletes feet - cornstarch

Not for me. I go a raging case of Athlete's foot at the local ladies spa and was using cornstarch to keep my tootsies dry, but, alas the Athlete's foot kept getting worse and worse despite the use an OTC anti-fungals. After my second use of the antifungals I used a food talcum powder that was medicated and bye-bye Athlete's foot. . .

18. Kool aid to clean dishwasher pipes. Just put in the detergent section
and run a cycle, it will also clean a toilet. (Wow, and we drink this
stuff)

Hey, I have used citric acid from a brewery store and it cleans a toilet great! I think Kool-aid is much cheaper and prettier too. Maybe I'll try it.
. . .

25. Heavy dandruff - pour on the vinegar!

An old timey rinse for your hair to keep it shiny is a couple tablespoons of vinegar in a quart or so of water--maybe vinegar restores that "acid mantle" in the skin/scalp?

26. Body paint - Crisco mixed with food coloring. Heat the Crisco in the
microwave, pour in to an empty film container and mix with the food color
of your choice!

Betcha you could use the Kool-aid as a dye here too.

28. Preserving a newspaper clipping - large bottle of club soda and cup
of milk of magnesia, soak for 20 min. and let dry, will last for many
years!

This one is interesting. Seems that the stuff here is neutralizing the acid in the cheap newsprint. Good Idea. . . .

Thanks for the post; I love this stuff.

I think I would rather suffer the sunburn than clean the bathtub for the rest

of my life after putting a whole jar of Lipton Tea in it!!! LOL!!!

We use toothpaste to rub into our masks after buying a new one and also....

every now and then...it is a mild abrasive but so mild it actually polishes the glass a bit. (Not that one can really see this but it does seem to help lessen the fogging up of the mask when snorkeling.)
