Michael I see that about a year ago you bought a referb one from Lee Ann, are you pleased with it?

I have never been to a demonstration, just watched The Blender Lady utubes. Then this week the editor of the Washington Post Food section did a talk to sell his vegetable book. During his presentation he made the most wonderful pea soup in his Waring version of Vita Mix. The soup was velvety smooth even with the ice cubes he thru in. That reminded me how much I would like one. I read the thread from here and know that everyone here who has one loves it.

He did not hand out the pea recipe because it was so simple, here it is?

*cook about 1/2 to 3/4 of a large bag of peas

*put some full fat Greek yogurt in your VitaMix, maybe about 1/2C?

*add fresh mint, chives and salt

*add most of the peas, keeping some aside

*drizzle a bit of olive oil

*add several ice cubes

*whirl away

Meanwhile mash the rest of the peas with a couple of T of crumbled feta, salt and a bit of olive oil.

Pour soup into a bowl. Place pea mash on a toasted crouton, float in soup, sprinkle with some minced mint and another drizzle of olive oil..

OH BOY was that good!!!

I want to do it in mini glasses as an appetizer for my next dinner. And I think I might add a few pine nuts to the pea mash.

I'd email Lee Ann....

She does the demos at Costco etc too, so she might be able to get you a better price or throw in some extra goodies, so ask. She's super nice and very helpful. Love my VM, this am I used it to pulse zest/sugar together instead of the FP and Fri I made lemon curd in 5 mins.

I have the 5200, which I think you can buy off the shelf at Costco these days and when they do a demo, it's the newer model that fits under cabinets. Find out when they are having a demo there or WFoods/etc and go watch. I've never regretted buying it - and I did so when I was out of work.

I'm really glad I got the Vita Mix and the refurbished one save me a lot of money.

It came with an 8 year warranty, I have not put it to the test yet but I have made lots of protein shakes and the best bloody mary's!

Prior to getting my Vita Mix I made the hummus that was posted where you cooked the dry garbanzo beans then rubbed the skins off which was a royal pain. It did make the smoothest hummus I had ever had! That is until the Vita Mix. I will never skin another garbanzo bean!

Oh, shortly after I got it the container was recalled so I sent the container back and received a new one along with a cookbook and an additional year on the warranty for the machine.

I will be making Hollandaise Sauce in it tonight for the roasted asparagus.

LeaAnn is the best and gives the best prices. She is going to start a class

with her yahoo group on how to do all kinds of things in the VitaMix. I'm so looking forward to it! So you ought to join to take advantage of that opportunity!

I just bought a 32 oz refurbished container through her. I love it and should have bought it a long time ago!!!
