Thinking of a treat from D'Artagnan and seeing their $180 cassoulet + bowl offer reminds me of Joe's

fabulous cassoulet. What I would do with 8 quarts of cassoulet for one person is just insane. Maybe I need to make it a project and have a party. I prefer Joe's recipe, of course! Meantime I'm playing on their website, having a shortbread cookie and some espresso....

My cassoulet bowl cost me $20, though I had to carry it home from France.

I see cassoulet in your future. You could always cut the recipe in half and have a smaller party.

I do need one of Judy's bowls! especially since I'm not going to France

unless I win the lottery, that is...

Think I'll do a cassoulet party in July, when it's really foggy here!!!

I'm game...

But I need to see what a cassoulet bowl looks like!

I doubt I can make and sell them for $20 however.

I'm retired now, so I need all the projects I can find!

What are the dimensions?

And how much does it hold? Do you use it to bake in?
I don't have clay that can be made into stove top capable pieces.

My wide one is 8 liters, but they come in 1,2, 4- liter sizes. The angled one is smaller,

with a larger surface to volume ratio for the crust. I would guess they are usually about 4 liters, but they come in a variety of sizes too. The stovetop cooking is done separately so they only need to be oven-friendly, though impatient people might want to broil them. (heresy)

My $20 price was close to 20 years ago, pre-euro. It was in Casselnaudery, ground zero for cassoulet, in a dusty discount shop. Don't worry about the competition.
