This looks beautiful and sounds great - Oh Marsha tbay... Pomegranate Smoothie

thanks Meryl, I now that I seem to always have pomegranate juice will try these when I get home

for breakie in the morning
Did you check out the cheesecake pops? At first, I thought--hmmm, silly? then was thinking for the end of a finger food party. But seems they would be messy?

Gosh been scrolling, in hotel in Seattle, you guys have been busy!!

Will be home a month or so, looking forward to checking in everyday.

Nan

What timing! Meryl...I was just looking for an idea for a different breakfast smoothie!

You are my foodie angel smileys/smile.gif

I always put a bit of pomegranate concentrate in my smoothies.

I lost 5# last week, which has really encouraged me. Off to the blender to try this... I don't use tofu, so I'll use yogurt.

Yesterday went to Rollin Oats, they put an Eden catalog in my bag; they have over 800 recipes on their website....edenfoods.com....thought you might like to know....

Meryl, delicious....see inside

Since I don't use tofu and had pomegranate concentrate my version is much thinner, but boy is it refreshing to say the least. Would be a wonderful drink in HOT weather. Thank you! I always tend to make too much, so this is just perfect for 1 glass.

Here's what I did...

1/3 c. yogurt
1 c frozen blueberries and strawberries
1/2 c pomegranate juice (made from concentrate)
tupelo honey and vanilla agave nectar

Thanks for the site...I found Sweet Potato & Black Bean Chili, I'm going to have that for dinner tonight with a salad. I can't thank you enough for being my foodie angel today!!! smileys/smile.gif (((Meryl)))

That sounds great, Marsha. I never have tofu in the house, so I'll be using yogurt also. What is

vanilla agave nectar like?

You're welcome, Nan. smileys/smile.gif Yes, I've seen those cheesecake pops on several sites lately.

It doesn't have a profound vanilla taste...it's good but hard to describe...,maybe clear

corn syrup mixed with water to thin it out a lot and a tad of vanilla added....

I have cappuccino agave too and it's also hard to describe; it doesn't necessarily taste like cappuccino either.

Perhaps when you add these to recipes it brings out the flavor that's intended...????

The reason I added the agave vanilla is tupelo is a rather strong honey and I thought the agave would help sweeten without the added strong taste of the honey.

Another good things for smoothies is unsweetened almond milk.

It's only 40 calories a cup...although it certainly isn't fat-free. Be careful, though...most stores carry regular almond milk, which has added sugar and 90 calories a cup.

That extra 50 calories is all sugar.

I like using the vanilla or chocolate with powdered peanut butter, yogurt, and a frozen banana. Sometimes I'll add sugar-free instant pudding to thicken. Based on taste, I usually toss in a Splenda or two.

I may make it tomorrow....
